This 1.5 m vertical tower was designed in order to test visual and olfactory stimuli on the vertical movement of Lepeoptheirus salmonis. Animals are introduced at the bottom of the tower into a chemically isolated chamber. Release of the animals into the tower is regulated via a trap door.

Observations on the swimming speed and population movement are made simultaneously at 3 levels within the tower using Shadow Video Photography and specialized software
(JASCO Scientific).
